Passport Canada, the official passport department of
the Canadian Government, faced a growing challenge: Passport
office traffic and wait times were continuing to grow,
leaving Canadians and the staff who serve them increasingly
frustrated.
In order to help alleviate the problem and better serve
Canadians, Passport Canada developed an on-line passport
program.
This secure web-based program features an on-line form
that enables Canadians to submit the bulk of the paper
work required to be able to receive or renew a Canadian
Passport in advance of visiting the Passport office. By
using the on-line form, wait times in the Passport office
are reduced by as much as half or more, ensuring much
better service.
In support of a national roll-out, Storm was tasked with
creating an identity and supporting communications materials
for the program.
Storm created posters, brochures and luggage tags which
were distributed to all passport offices, tour operators,
and travel agencies in Canada.
Our goal was to quickly articulate that there was a new
and easy alternative to spending time in line at the Passport
office. This “convenience” position was underscored
with information detailing the security and trustworthiness
of this option for Canadians.
